In today’s fast-paced work environment, companies struggle with ensuring structured and effective knowledge transfer. Many rely on informal training methods, leading to inconsistencies, loss of expertise, and inefficient learning. This is where BTP and Champ make a difference — providing organizations with a structured, scalable approach to training that ensures long-term success.
This is the key question driving the BTP Nordic and Champ one-day networking workshop — an event designed to provide organizations with practical insights and hands-on experience in TWI Job Instruction and the foundational elements of a high-performing training organization.
When we and Champ first discussed hosting this event, our goal was to introduce leaders and practitioners to TWI Job Instruction and the essential steps for building a structured training approach. Initially, we planned for a single workshop, but demand quickly exceeded expectations. To date, we have already delivered two fully booked sessions, with two more at capacity—and interest continues to grow, prompting us to add additional dates.

Introduction to TWI & Demonstration of TWI Job Instruction
Participants were introduced to TWI (Training Within Industry), its history, and why it remains a highly effective approach to on-the-job training. The primary focus was on TWI Job Instruction, providing insight into how organizations can ensure consistent and high-quality knowledge transfer. A practical demonstration of the TWI JI 4-Step Method gave attendees a clear understanding of how structured training improves learning retention and performance.
Spotting the Job Trainer Talent
A key element of the session was identifying the right people to become Job Trainers. Attendees explored what makes an effective trainer, how to evaluate and select the best candidates, and how to create a structured development process for trainers within their organizations.
The Leader’s Role in Job Instruction
The role of leaders in supporting and sustaining training was a key discussion point. Attendees gained insight into how leadership can drive training efforts forward, ensuring training is not just implemented but also continuously improved. The concept of Process Confirmation was introduced, helping leaders understand how to monitor, sustain, and reinforce high-quality training within their teams.
How to Get Started
The session concluded with practical implementation strategies. Participants learned about common challenges and pitfalls when rolling out TWI Job Instruction and how to ensure strong organizational anchoring. Real-world examples showcased how structured training leads to long-term success when done right.
A Global Collaboration with Local Impac
BTP has a global agreement with Champ, forming the foundation for a broad collaboration aimed at strengthening training organizations worldwide. In BTP Nordic, we have chosen to focus first on Denmark, establishing a strong foundation before expanding into other Nordic countries.
Our goal is to build the right training structures, ensuring a scalable and effective approach before rolling it out across the Nordic region and beyond.

The collaboration between BTP and BTP Nordic is also a key part, where John Vellema and I (Cathrine) support Thomas Ilskov in establishing the Nordic branch of Business Through People.
At the same time, we are working in parallel with Ben Hoseus, Regional Partner for BTP Africa, and Thomas Ilskov, Regional Partner for BTP Nordic, to develop the global BTP organization.
BTP’s long-term goal is to establish a strong network of regional partners, partners, and affiliates. The lessons we are learning through our collaboration with Ben and Thomas are invaluable in shaping a more efficient and structured onboarding process for future partners.
