Business Through People
Why did you become a partner?
“I joined BTP since it was the perfect match my ambitions and the services BTP made available.
I made the decision to become an independent leadership consultant after I have been working at Toyota Material Handling for more than ten years. I wanted to utilize all my learnings and experiences to support leaders outside Toyota.
Going from being an employee to running my own business was a big step with many challenges. One of the most crucial ones was to make my service offer clear to my customer.
“A few years earlier, an Enabler from BTP pitched Toyota Kata to me, and I immediately understood the strength of this program. However, it was not possible to bring in the concept since I worked at Toyota at that time since we had all needed expertise in-house.”
So, when time came for me to start my own business, I made the decision to reach out to BTP because I saw the value of tapping into to their program portfolio instead of trying to invent everything myself. This gave me a unique opportunity that day 1 be able to provide well-proven and highly appreciated programs to my customer.
By joining BTP as a Partner, I was seen not only as an experienced and capable individual, but still only a one-man show. It was a great strength to become part of a larger context, with other Enablers I could bounce ideas with, taking on bigger customer projects, and provide the full benefit of cases and programs to my customers.”
How was the process?
“I appreciated the diligent process of becoming a Partner. It gave time and opportunity to learn more about BTP and for BTP to learn more about me.
We are a people-centric company, so sharing the same values are crucial.”
What’s the best thing about being a partner?
“From a personal perspective, the best of being a Partner is to have friends and colleagues all over the world. We are a strong community of Enablers sharing the same vision. We meet to have fun together and to challenge each other to grow as human beings.
From a business perspective, it gives me access to so much knowledge and experience. Both from the network of enablers and programs, but also from the extensive customer portfolio. When I speak to new and old customers, I can do that with confidence of knowing we have many successful cases of how to deploy our programs to create the expected value.”
