Thomas has spent the past 18 years in quality and operational excellence roles leading transformations in three global companies specializing in material processing and converting. This always included advocating at all levels and elevating people capabilities and engagement.

His CI journey started when his first Black Belt project resulted in his development of a Knife Safety Levels chart in 2006. This chart has been adopted by the leading Safety Knife company worldwide and continues to prevent thousands of recordable lacerations by providing guidance on selecting tools that reduce laceration harm exposures across countless industries.

With deployment instincts that naturally translate key objectives into tactical plans, Thomas partners effectively from the C-level to the shop floor and across the extended enterprise to build problem solving cultures and deliver business results. He has heavily leveraged Job Instruction since 2007 in many dozens of plants to document tacit knowledge, update/create standards, improve workforce and process stability, integrate start-ups/acquisitions and strive towards global standardization.

He started his career in packaging and product development where he was granted 7 patents while working for Tetra Pak. Prior to that he did biological fieldwork for the National Marine Fisheries Service in Alaska and also worked summers in the Alaskan commercial fisheries. Thomas has two sons and enjoys extended outdoor adventures, gardening and cooking.  His life is greatly enriched and his passions ignited by the diversity of people and cultures on this planet we share.
